After the reveal of the first-ever Ford F-150 Lightning, a group of us spent some time to better understand the dynamics of towing with an electric truck. Despite many skeptics, the Ford electric truck is a phenomenal towing machine - and yes, range degradation is just the same as a gas-powered truck. What's different, however, is how the truck conveys that range - and the cloud-based Ford Intelligent Range system that can accurately predict range down to +/- 5%, even on roads and ares the customer has never traveled.

More than just an electric truck, the Ford F-150 Lightning is an enormous energy source that can power the average home for several days, or capture clean energy from a solar panel system or other renewable energy so you can use it to power your home.

A century ago, my grandfather worked for Henry Ford to create Ford Rouge plant, the first of its kind vertically integrated manufacturing facility. Today, I worked with great grandson Bill Ford to unveil BlueOval City, the largest ever single manufacturing investment for Ford to not only provide vertical integration, but to be fully closed-loop sustainable. This is an animation I wrote and sketched for Civic, who produced the animation art and edits.

As lead writer for the F-150 Lightning Pro reveal, Ford's first commercial battery electric truck, I created the video scripts for Ford Pro CEO Ted Cannis' master class series as part of the virtual reveal event online.

Key to the Built Wild Bronco brand is promoting good outdoor stewardship and helping customers get "back to the wild." I worked in a cross-functional capacity with Bronco marketing and product communications teams to help develop the Bronco brand programs like the Filson+Bronco project with the National Forest Foundation. The end goal is to return the wild better than we found it. And in an age of forest loss due to fire and climate issues, this is a very important program to make that happen.

Despite a lot of vocal skepticism from Raptor enthusiasts that the 3.5-liter V6 engine in the Gen-2 F-150 Raptor was not up to the job, we announced the final 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. torque stats were revealed in the sands of Borrego Desert at the end of this video.

This is how Good Morning America helped the run first full public test of Ford Co-Pilot 360 adaptive cruise control - in the rain, none the less!

By far, one of the craziest, most effective concepts I've ever got across the finish line. It began when I stumbled on a graphic about phantom traffic jams on Reddit. I did a search and stumbled on an article by U. of M. physics professor C.L. Davis explaining how technologies like adaptive cruise control and autonomous vehicles could end the phenomena of phantom traffic jams in future. I tracked Craig Lloyd Davis down (no relation) and discovered this theory was written more than 15 years ago by the retired Ford engineer, and while it was cited more than 1,200 times in research papers around the world, it had never been actually tested. We decided to give it a try - LIVE, on Good Morning America! So we did just that. And that's why they call me Mr. Phantom Traffic Jam.

Who doesn't love to see glowing turbocharger? F-150 Raptor fans did! This was shot as part of a larger story on the first V6 Raptor exhaust system tuning for off-road performance and was used as a Twitter and Instagram story. It was also turned into a .GIF.

In-between working on nuts-and-bolts and technology stories, I've been fortunate to share some other Ford stories, including this one with the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Care. Ford donated a 2018 Explorer as part of the diversionary therapy programs, where kids undergoing cancer treatment can come to their shop and do projects that keep their motor skills in shape. Their project is featured in this wonderful film about some of the kids and their final project.

One of the most amazing aspects of working with the Ford Performance team, was joining them for several of their track testing sessions to document their "day at the office." They operated more like a professional racing team with crews, stacks of tires and transporters loaded with cars, tools and spare parts. This video was the culmination of several of those track days.

And now for something completely different - a music video. I met these two musicians through a longtime friend and was testing out some new Canon equipment and they were open to letting me test them out on them. We created a story of Arron leaving his family to become a traveling musician as a metaphor for the loss of his grandfather, who had been a surrogate father to him growing up. Finally, he returns to Motown to be with his true love.

A really fun story about a Ford engineer named Chip Conrad who designed a machine that turned aluminum stamping scraps into chips that could be automatically sorted and returned to build another 47,000 F-Series truck bodies a year.

When Ford F-Series trucks reached the 40-year milestone for being America's best-selling trucks, we created #40YearsTough, a social connection where owners could share the love of their Ford F-Series trucks. I began the storytelling with a few of our own, including this vintage blue F-150 named "Pearl" by it's owner, Kim Lewis, designer for ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

Aside from helping Michigan business customers save money and energy, it was always great to meet the owners and hear the stories about how they started their business and what it's like to run them. We continued this story with print and outdoor advertising to Consumers Energy customers throughout Michigan.

A really fun way to promote an aftermarket business who had bobbleheads made of their sales staff. Using a phonograph turntable and a disco ball, the heads dance and agree, Motovicity is the only place to call for performance parts.

Another fun story of how Consumers Energy helped a Michigan farmer save thousands on energy costs - and who doesn't like a cute calf licking the camera lens?

A very simple and brand-aware way to demonstrate how large the trunk of the new flagship XTS sedan was - as in how many golf club bags you can easily fit in the trunk.

As LED lighting was being introduced to the automotive industry, Cadillac designers use these new innovations to create signature lighting that identified the luxury brand and choreographed a sequence that greeted owners as they approached and said "goodbye" as they parked and walked away. These videos were shared with Cadillac dealers who used them on their own websites to educate potential buyers on the many innovative features.
